Braille Link for Windows turns your keyboard into a Braille writer in Word and across Windows, while NVDA keeps reading for you.
Switch Braille mode on, write with F, D, S, J, K and L, and switch it off to type as normal.
For Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The installer is not yet code-signed, so Windows may show “Unknown publisher”: choose More info, then Run anyway.
Braille should not stop at the browser.
Word, email and the forms you fill in every day expect print typing. Writing in Braille there has meant switching to print keys, or using a separate Braille device.
Braille Link for Windows puts the six Braille keys into every application, and leaves the reading to NVDA.

NVDA is free, open-source software by NV Access. Braille Link for Windows installs an add-on for NVDA, so the two do not talk over each other. NVDA needs to be running for the add-on to be installed.

Download and install
Run the installer on a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 computer.
Pair the device
Braille Link for Windows shows a code. Enter it on the Braille Link Windows page of your account.
Switch on Braille mode
Type with F, D, S, J, K and L. A is Backspace and ; is Enter.
Write anywhere
Move between applications as usual; NVDA keeps reading them for you.
Your typing stays on your computer.
Braille typing and speech are handled on your Windows device; your Braille Link account is only used to activate it. When Braille mode is off, or you are in a password field, the keyboard behaves exactly as it normally does.
