How To Use Braille Input
Braille Input user guide and shortcuts.
Start Typing
- Press
a+for click in the braille input area to activate braille keyboard. - Press chords using
f d sandj k l, then release to insert one Braille cell. - Use
spacefor blank space and;for enter. - Institution learners can press
g+hor use Change subject to switch work subjects.
Edit Text
- Use
afor backspace. - Use
a+;to recover deleted text. - Use the on-screen action buttons for Space, Backspace, Enter, Submit, and Clear.
Save And Recover
- Press
j+spaceto save the current document and start fresh input. - If a recovered draft appears, press
fto restore it. - If a recovered draft appears, press
jto leave it saved and continue fresh. - Use Settings, Sessions to restore autosave or saved documents later.
Submit Workflow
- Press
a+jonce to arm submission and hear confirmation. - Press
a+jagain to submit. - Press
a+fto cancel while submission is armed.
Read Navigation
a+dreads the current line.a+sreads the current paragraph.a+s+dreads the whole document.- Use left and right arrows for character navigation.
- Use
a+ left or right arrows for word navigation. - Use
a+ up or down arrows for paragraph navigation. - You can also use the read controls below the output box.
Export
- Use download buttons to export BRF, DOCX, or PDF from the current session.
